DR. RUGGERO LEONCAVALLO
I graduated in Dentistry in 2014 in Madrid from Universidad Alfonso X El Sabio. In 2016, I completed the University Master’s Degree in Oral Implantology and Implant-Supported Prosthetics at the same university. After successfully resolving many cases of bone atrophy through traditional implantology, I decide to go further by obtaining the title of “Especializacion en Buco-Maxillo-Facial” in Brazil at Universidad FACOP (Faculdade do Centro Oeste Paulista). My goal is to help patients with very severe bone atrophies who have always been told they do not have enough bone to place implants and are consequently condemned to removable dentures.
I continued to attend various refresher courses from the greatest Masters in individual specialties including Prof. G. Zucchelli,
Prof. D. Cardaropoli in Periodontology and Periodontal Surgery and Reconstructive Bone Surgery with Dr. Marco Ronda and Dr. Sasha Jovanovic.

Thanks to zygomatic, pterygoid, trans-sinus, and trans-nasal implants, it was possible to restore smiles to all those who had lost hope. Prior to the advent of the aforementioned implants, the standard procedure involved bone grafts that needed about 9 months before implants could be placed and an additional 3-4 months for fixed prostheses to be installed. With the use of advanced surgical techniques that adopt the use of zygomatic, pterygoid, trans-sinus, and trans-nasal implants (called Graftless techniques, i.e., without bone grafts), it is possible to place the implants by taking advantage of the patient’s native and residual bone, completing the placement of fixed prosthesis within 24 to 48 hours. This approach significantly decreases treatment duration, patient discomfort and increases the likelihood of success.
